Inbox placement checks, in one look.
Warmerly runs a placement test on a mailbox: it sends one message to up to 4 target mailboxes and scores where each lands (inbox 100, promotions 60, spam 10, missing 0), then averages. The accuracy is limited today: Warmerly has no dedicated Gmail or Outlook seed list yet, so tests fall back to its own warmup-pool mailboxes and are labelled Limited accuracy. We found no inbox placement check on Expandi's pricing page or in the help pages we read. Last checked 19 October 2026.

A placement test, second by second
Drag the clock. An example test on one mailbox, with four target mailboxes
Example only: the four results are made up to show how the scoring works. A message goes from the mailbox's own SMTP to up to 4 targets, Warmerly waits 30 seconds on demand (90 seconds in the daily sweep), then looks in INBOX, Promotions, Spam and Junk over IMAP. Scores: inbox 100, promotions 60, spam 10, missing 0, averaged.
| Example | Four results | Average |
|---|---|---|
| All four in the inbox | 100, 100, 100, 100 | 100 |
| One in promotions | 100, 100, 100, 60 | 90 |
| One in spam | 100, 100, 100, 10 | 78 |
| One not found | 100, 100, 100, 0 | 75 |
What a degraded result means
Where the target mailboxes are decides whether a score means anything
Warmerly has no dedicated Gmail or Outlook seed list yet, so every test uses its own warmup-pool mailboxes and is labelled Limited accuracy. Real-mailbox seeds are built but switched off. Checked in the code on 15 October 2026.
Source: Warmerly's placement documentation, read 19 October 2026. A degraded score is about 100 whatever the sender's real performance, so it is kept out of the health score, the spam score and the warmup quota.

What it looks like.

Warmerly, in detail.
A real test with a score for each target, run on demand or daily. Its limit is where the targets are: until real Gmail or Outlook seeds exist, a test measures delivery into Warmerly's own mailboxes and says so.
What a test does
It sends one message from the mailbox's own SMTP to up to 4 targets (2 on the same provider, 2 on another). After a wait of 30 seconds on demand, or 90 seconds in the daily sweep, it checks INBOX, Promotions, Spam and Junk over IMAP and scores each result: inbox 100, promotions 60, spam 10, missing 0. The scores are averaged.

No dedicated seed list yet
Real measurement needs seed mailboxes at Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo in the placement_seeds table. The doc's check on 2026-10-15 found that table has never held a real row in production, so every test falls back to Warmerly's own warmup-pool mailboxes.

Why a degraded result is not a measurement
Warmerly's own mailboxes accept essentially everything, so a degraded score is about 100 whatever the sender's real performance. In code a degraded run never writes health, is excluded from the spam score and the warmup quota, and the account page shows a Limited accuracy note. A trend is shown only when the two latest tests are the same kind.

Real-mailbox seeds are built but off
PLACEMENT_REAL_SEEDS defaults to off. When on, targets would be consenting Gmail or Outlook mailboxes of other customers in the warmup network, found by Message-ID only. The doc says this has not been run against production or a live Gmail or Outlook mailbox.

When it runs, and how many
On demand from the mailbox Health tab (about 45 to 60 seconds), and daily for up to 5 mailboxes per sweep, skipping any tested in the last 24 hours. Monthly test allowances are 3 on Free, 5 on Starter, 25 on Growth and 100 on Agency.

Placement stays out of automatic stops
Warmerly's reputation job pauses sending on bounce rate (7 per cent) and undeliverable rate (30 per cent), each after at least 25 sends. It does not use placement, because the only placement signal available is the seed test and those seeds have been unreliable.

Copy checks are separate
Before a campaign starts, a content-quality warning fires on a spam-word score of 25 or more, shouting or repeated punctuation in a subject, more than 5 links or 3 images. It is a heuristic, not a spam-filter score.

Expandi, in detail.
No inbox placement or deliverability check is listed on the pricing page or in the help pages we read.
Absent from the pricing page
We read the pricing page for inbox placement, deliverability, spam and DNS. None of these terms appears. The only email mention is that email follow-ups can sit in one sequence with connection requests and messages.

What it reports instead
The help centre Inbox collection lists a Message Queue article and one on how to check failed messages. We read only their titles, so we cannot say more, but they sit in the LinkedIn messaging area and are not about where mail lands.

Email is view only
Emails sent from a campaign show in the lead's conversation as view only. Read and unread status is tracked only inside Expandi and does not change anything in your mailbox.

Where Expandi's safety effort goes
Its stated safety features are for LinkedIn: dedicated IP, profile warm-up and daily limit ranges. A LinkedIn message has no inbox or spam folder to land in, so a placement test has no direct LinkedIn equivalent.

What Expandi does not say
We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.
- Any inbox placement or spam-folder test
- Any seed list or deliverability score
- Any blocklist reporting
- Whether the Email Integration Settings article says more (we could not open it: it returned HTTP 401)
Only what we could verify.

What it means for you.
Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.
Treat a Warmerly score as a signal
While tests land in Warmerly's own mailboxes, a high score mostly shows that mail was delivered and read by friendly mailboxes. Look for the Limited accuracy note, and do not read a 100 as proof of Gmail inbox placement.
It does not apply to LinkedIn
A LinkedIn message has no spam folder, so Expandi not having a placement test is not a gap for LinkedIn work. It matters only if you rely on its email follow-ups.
Use the other checks too
Records, blocklists, bounce rate and warmup health tell you more than one placement score. The authentication page covers the first two.
Pick the one that fits.
Warmerly is the better fit if
- You send cold email and want a test per mailbox, run on demand or daily
- You accept that the result is labelled Limited accuracy until real seeds exist
- You want placement next to warmup and DNS checks in one product
Expandi is the better fit if
- Your outreach is on LinkedIn and email is only an occasional follow-up
- You use a separate deliverability tool for email
Does Expandi have an inbox placement test?
We found none on its pricing page or in the help pages we read.
Is Warmerly's placement score accurate?
Not yet in full. It has no dedicated Gmail or Outlook seed list, so tests fall back to its own warmup-pool mailboxes and are labelled Limited accuracy. Real-mailbox seeds are built but switched off.
How is the score worked out?
Each target result scores inbox 100, promotions 60, spam 10 or missing 0, and the scores are averaged.
How many placement tests do I get?
3 a month on Free, 5 on Starter, 25 on Growth and 100 on Agency.
