Image and GIF personalisation, in one look.
Warmerly personalises text only: merge tags, a per-lead AI opener for email, and an optional AI-written LinkedIn message for each prospect. We found no per-lead image, GIF or video feature in Warmerly's code. Expandi can put a personalised image, GIF or video into a LinkedIn message, but through two third-party tools and at extra cost: its pricing page says image and GIF personalisation costs extra on top of the subscription and video is a paid add-on, and its help centre says the image side runs through Hyperise and the video side through Sendspark. It cannot be used in connection requests. Last checked 19 October 2026.

Example only. The lead and message are made up to show the shape. Expandi's image, GIF and video routes run through Hyperise and Sendspark, third-party tools with their own accounts. Both prices are in the table below; Expandi's extra costs are not published.

The limits that apply
Numbers each side states for this feature
- 280 characters, connection note
- 700 characters, message
- 1 AI credit per written message
- 3 attempts before it falls back to your text
- 600x600 px image given as the example
- 1 attachment per campaign step
- 3 attachments, 20 MB each, in a direct message
- Kept for up to 3 months
Warmerly's limits come from its LinkedIn AI code. Expandi's come from its help articles on Hyperise and attachments. Neither side publishes a limit for every item, so a missing number does not mean no limit.
Warmerly, in detail.
Text, not pictures. Eight built-in merge tags, custom per-lead fields, an AI opener tag for email, and a LinkedIn message written for each prospect from their profile. No per-lead image, GIF or video.
Eight built-in merge tags
A campaign template can use email, firstName, lastName, companyName, senderFirstName, senderLastName, senderName and senderEmail, plus any custom field a lead carries. An unknown tag resolves to an empty string so a bad template never blocks a send, but the pre-launch check names it and stops the launch before it sends.

An AI opener for email
The {{ai_opener}} tag is generated for each lead at send time from research on the lead's website. It needs a campaign brief: a step that uses it with no brief is a blocking pre-launch error, and a live test call to the opener model runs when you press Start. Leads with no website summary are flagged as a warning when more than 20 per cent of queued leads lack one.

A LinkedIn message written for one person
Switch on Personalise with AI on a LinkedIn step and each connection note or message is written from that prospect's real profile (about, industry, experience, skills, up to 3 recent posts) and the campaign brief. It is off by default. Each written message costs 1 AI credit, refunded when the output is not used. The limits are 280 characters for a connection note and 700 for a message.
Warmerly product, checked 19 October 2026
What you approved is what is sent
A preview for a real lead is stored, and the engine sends that stored text for that lead and step. The model may only use facts in the profile, links are limited to the campaign's own booking and offer links, and a failed check means the text is not used. The model gets 3 attempts before the step falls back to your own template.

LinkedIn sends are text
The LinkedIn send call takes an account, a recipient and a text string. The native LinkedIn parser treats an attachment-only message as an empty body when it reads inbound mail. We found no code that sends an image, GIF, video or file on LinkedIn.
Warmerly product, checked 19 October 2026
Images in email are checked, not generated
The pre-launch copy check warns when an email has more than 3 images or more than 5 links. That is a spam-risk heuristic you can acknowledge. We found nothing that builds a different image for each lead.

Where Warmerly is behind
If a personalised image, GIF or video in the first message is the point of your outreach, Warmerly has no equivalent today. Its personalisation is words only, and the LinkedIn AI writes from profile facts, not from pictures.

Expandi, in detail.
Image and GIF personalisation sits on the Business plan page as a paid extra, and video as a paid add-on. The help centre shows both run through third-party tools (Hyperise for images and GIFs, Sendspark for video) that you connect per LinkedIn profile. No amounts are published.
The pricing page
The Business plan list says: "Image & GIF Personalization This service requires an additional cost to your existing subscription." The next line lists video personalization as an available integration with Senspark and a paid add-on. No price is given for either.

Text placeholders first
The default placeholders are {first_name}, {last_name}, {job_title} and {company_name}. The same list offers Hyperise (for images and GIFs) and Dynamic Placeholder, for placeholders you create or import yourself. The Builder collection also lists an AI Hyper-personalization article (title only; we did not read it).
help.expandi.io/en/articles/5405770-default-placeholders · read 19 October 2026
Images and GIFs run through Hyperise
The help article says you build the image or GIF in Hyperise (a third-party tool), keep it Active, and map each lead's LinkedIn photo into the design from Expandi's data. A square 600x600 px image is given as the example. You need a Hyperise account, which you create on Hyperise's own site.

Set up once per LinkedIn profile
Hyperise is connected with an API token pasted into each LinkedIn profile's settings: "You need to do this step for each LinkedIn profile that you wish to use the Hyperise integration." An agency with several client profiles repeats it for each one.
help.expandi.io/en/articles/5405354-hyperise-integration · read 19 October 2026
Not in connection requests
"You cannot use Hyperise in a connection request." It also cannot be used in a first group message or a group follow-up, and Hyperise GIFs do not show in the campaign preview, only once the message is sent.
help.expandi.io/en/articles/5405354-hyperise-integration · read 19 October 2026
Video runs through Sendspark
A Sendspark video is added as a {sendspark_video} placeholder that is replaced with the video link. The article lists connector messages, follow-ups, open InMail, group messages and, in the Builder campaign, connection request actions. The lead must have a first name in Expandi or the video cannot be included and the message fails.

Attachments as a plainer route
Messages (not connection requests) can carry attachments: documents DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, PDF, XLS, XLSX and images GIF, JPEG, PNG. A direct message can include 3 attachments of up to 20 MB each; a campaign step takes 1 attachment per message and still needs a text body. Files are kept for up to 3 months. These are the same file for every lead, not personalised.

What it does for you
A per-lead picture or video in a LinkedIn message is something Expandi can do and Warmerly cannot. The cost of doing it is two more subscriptions you manage yourself, a per-profile setup, and a price that is not published.

What Expandi does not say
We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.
- The price of the image and GIF service, or of the video add-on
- Which plan or tier needs the image and GIF service beyond the Business plan list
- Who bills for Hyperise or Sendspark (the help articles give no billing detail)
- What happens to a Sendspark video after its 7-day free trial for the Sendspark account
- Limits on video length, format or volume
- Whether attachments work in InMail (the attachments article does not say)
Where the sources disagree
We report each version rather than pick one.
- The vendor's name for the video tool is spelled three ways: its pricing page says "Senspark", its help centre says "Sendspark" and its home page says "Sendspark and Hyperize". We use Sendspark and Hyperise, the spellings in the help centre.
- The pricing page lists video as available only as a paid add-on, but the Sendspark help article mentions a 7-day free trial of a Sendspark account. Those are different things (Expandi's add-on and Sendspark's own account) and neither article ties them together.
- The Sendspark article lists connection request actions in the Builder campaign as a place for video, while the Hyperise article says it cannot be used in a connection request. They cover different tools, so both can be true.
Only what we could verify.

What it means for you.
Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.
Pictures are Expandi's ground
If your first LinkedIn message works because it carries the prospect's own photo on a custom image, or a short video with their name in it, that is Expandi's strength and Warmerly has no answer for it.
Words are Warmerly's ground
If the personalisation you want is a sentence that shows you read their profile, Warmerly's LinkedIn AI writes it from their real profile and stores a preview, for 1 credit a message. Expandi lists AI hyper-personalisation too, so check its cost.
Count the extra tools
The Expandi route needs a Hyperise or Sendspark account on top of the seat, set up on each LinkedIn profile. None of the three prices is published together, so ask before you budget.
Pick the one that fits.
Warmerly is the better fit if
- You want personalisation that is text, written from a prospect's real profile
- You send email and LinkedIn from one sequence and want one tool to check merge tags before launch
- You do not need a different picture or video for each lead
Expandi is the better fit if
- A personalised image, GIF or video in the message is central to your outreach
- You already use Hyperise or Sendspark and want them inside LinkedIn campaigns
- You are happy to pay for add-ons and set them up for each LinkedIn profile
Can Warmerly send a personalised image or video on LinkedIn?
We found no code in Warmerly that sends an image, GIF, video or file on LinkedIn. Its LinkedIn send takes text only.
Does Expandi charge extra for image and GIF personalisation?
Its pricing page says the service requires an additional cost on top of your existing subscription and lists video as a paid add-on. It does not publish the amounts.
Can I use a personalised image in a connection request on Expandi?
Its help centre says Hyperise cannot be used in a connection request. Its Sendspark article lists connection request actions in the Builder campaign as a place a video can go.
Does Warmerly have AI personalisation?
Yes, as words: an AI opener tag for email and an optional AI-written LinkedIn message for each prospect. A written LinkedIn message costs 1 AI credit and is off by default.
