What it looks like.

Warmerly, in detail.
A daily campaign limit per mailbox, an optional ramp for young mailboxes, a graded brake on bounces and a pause at 7 per cent. Warmup traffic follows its own curve and is counted separately from campaign sends.
30 a day by default
Each mailbox has its own daily campaign limit, 30 by default. The limit applies on top of warmup traffic, which follows its own ramp.

A ramp from 3 to 15
A campaign can ramp each mailbox from 3 emails on sending day 1, adding 1 a day up to 15 by default, so full volume arrives on the 13th sending day. It switches on for young mailboxes and can only tighten a mailbox's limit.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
Sending days, not calendar days
The ramp counts only days on which the campaign is allowed to send, in the campaign's own time zone. On a Monday to Friday schedule twelve calendar days hold eight sending days, so weekends keep the cap flat and the ramp takes longer on the calendar.

Two gates, per mailbox and per campaign
A mailbox sends at the lower of its own limit and the ramp cap. A campaign's daily total is held to the lower of its own limit and the ramp cap times the number of active senders, so cycling through more mailboxes cannot skip the ramp.

The brake
From 2 per cent bounces over 7 days the cap is multiplied by 0.75, from 3 per cent by 0.5, from 5 per cent by 0.25, and at 7 per cent the mailbox is paused. None of it applies under 25 sends. The brake never takes a cap below 1 a day, because zero is a pause and a pause comes with an email.

Warmup has its own ceiling
Warmup send quota scales with account age, from 4 a day at day 0 up to 50 a day by day 30, and 50 a day is the hard cap. The curve is keyed to the mailbox's activation date, so a fully warmed mailbox stays at its full volume.

Where Warmerly is behind
The written guidance is thinner. We found no stated rule for a young domain, no recommended weekly step for a mature mailbox, and no warmup score that has to be reached before a campaign starts.

lemlist, in detail.
A help article lays out three caps, checked in order, for Gmail and Google Workspace. It gives figures for the domain, the mailbox and the total, and says to add mailboxes rather than raise limits.
A young domain
A domain under one month old stays under 100 emails a day across all its mailboxes.

No cold email at first
A mailbox that has not passed 14 days of stabilisation sends 0 cold emails, only lemwarm, and no campaign starts below a Warmup Score of 90. The article also names an inbox rate above 90 per cent as a prerequisite.

The schedule once live
Start at 10 to 15 a day, add 5 a week, and cap at 25 to 30 a day. Warmup plus campaigns should stay at or below 50 a day per mailbox. Limits run on a rolling 24-hour window.

How lemwarm ramps
The article says lemwarm ramps by 1 a day for about 40 days, then holds at target for 14 days, and that each new mailbox needs that run before cold sending. It gives no numerical target for lemwarm.

Keeping a signal running
The article says to keep one reputation signal running at all times: inbox placement tests 1 to 2 times a month, or lemwarm at 10 a day as the fallback.

What happens at the limit
lemlist can pause sending if it detects you may exceed your quota, and the article says this is not foolproof. Providers can still restrict a mailbox on their own signals even when lemlist's limits are respected.

Recovery
After a pause of more than 7 days the mailbox loses some trust and should ramp again, starting around 15 a day of lemlist plus 15 a day of lemwarm. The same article gives the recovery increment as 3, not 1.

The plan's own email limit
Separately from any mailbox limit, the Email plan carries a monthly volume. When it is reached active campaigns pause, the admin is emailed and upgrade options appear at next login. An upgrade takes effect at once and resets the sending count to 0.

What lemlist does not say
We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.
- lemlist's default daily limit, and any limit for custom SMTP accounts: the article gives no figure for either.
- Any figure for Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailboxes: the article does not cover them.
- Per hour limits, delays between emails and a sending window in the sending limits article.
Where the sources disagree
We report each version rather than pick one.
- lemlist's lemwarm setup article gives a different total ceiling: it says output of lemlist, lemwarm and manual replies should stay under 70 a day per provider, while the sending-limits article says 50 a day per mailbox. One is per provider and one per mailbox, so they may not conflict.
- The sending limits article gives the restart after an incident as 15 a day of lemlist plus 15 a day of lemwarm, and the lemwarm fallback elsewhere in the same article as 10 a day. It does not explain the difference.
Only what we could verify.

What it means for you.
Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.
Starting a fresh mailbox
On lemlist's guidance a new mailbox sends no cold email for about two weeks. In Warmerly a young mailbox can start campaigns on the 3 to 15 ramp while warmup runs, which starts sooner. Whether sooner is wise depends on the mailbox and the list.
Why numbers differ
lemlist's figures are a recommended plan in a help article. Warmerly's are limits in code. Neither is a guarantee of inbox placement.
Reading the lemlist climb
From 10 a day, adding 5 a week, a mailbox reaches 30 in four weeks (10, 15, 20, 25, 30). From 15 it takes three. Add the 14 day stabilisation first and the first cold email is at least two weeks away. The article's own warmup run of about 40 days ramping plus 14 days holding would make it 54 days, which is our addition of two figures it gives.
Reading the Warmerly climb
With the ramp on, a mailbox sends 3 on its first sending day and 15 on its thirteenth. Adding those thirteen days gives 3 + 4 + ... + 15 = 117 emails in total, from day one. Five mailboxes together send 15 on day one. To go past 15 a day per mailbox a team has to raise the ramp maximum, up to the mailbox's own limit of 30.
A weekday only schedule
If a campaign sends Monday to Friday, the ramp's thirteen sending days take just under three calendar weeks. lemlist's 5 a week step is counted in calendar weeks. The two are close, but Warmerly's ramp holds still at weekends and lemlist's does not describe a weekend rule.
A mailbox with a bad week
Say 40 sends in a week produce 2 bounces, 5 per cent. In Warmerly that is the x0.25 band, so a cap of 30 becomes 7 a day (30 x 0.25, rounded down). At 3 bounces in 40, 7.5 per cent, the mailbox is paused and the owner is emailed. lemlist's article does not give bounce thresholds, so it offers nothing to compare.
Adding volume
lemlist says to add mailboxes rather than raise limits. At 25 to 30 a day each, ten mailboxes give 250 to 300 a day. Warmerly's default of 30 a day gives 300 from ten, and Growth includes 25.
Pick the one that fits.
Warmerly is the better fit if
- You want limits applied for you, with a ramp and a bounce brake already built in.
- You are happy to start sending sooner on a young mailbox with a ramp.
- You want sends slowed automatically when bounces rise, not only a pause at the end.
lemlist is the better fit if
- You want a documented, step by step schedule and the reasons behind each number.
- You prefer to hold cold email back until a warmup score is reached.
- You want written guidance for a young domain and for recovering after a pause.
How many emails a day should one mailbox send?
lemlist's help article suggests 10 to 15 a day after warmup, rising 5 a week to 25 to 30, with warmup plus campaigns under 50. Warmerly's default campaign limit is 30 a day per mailbox. Both are guidance and limits, not promises about inbox placement.
Can I send cold email from a brand new mailbox on Warmerly?
Yes. A campaign with a young mailbox opens with the volume ramp on, starting at 3 emails per mailbox on the first sending day, while warmup runs alongside. lemlist's guidance is to send no cold email until about 14 days of stabilisation and a Warmup Score of 90.
Does Warmerly slow down a mailbox that is bouncing?
Yes. Over a 7 day window, from 2 per cent bounces the cap is multiplied by 0.75, from 3 per cent by 0.5, from 5 per cent by 0.25, and at 7 per cent the mailbox is paused. None of it applies under 25 sends.
What does lemlist say about a new domain?
A domain under one month old should stay under 100 emails a day across all its mailboxes, per its sending limits article. It gives no step size for increasing after that.
Is there a monthly send cap in Warmerly?
Not on paid plans. The mailbox's daily limit and the number of mailboxes bound the volume. lemlist's Email plan carries a monthly volume, from 50,000 emails at $69 a month.
