LinkedIn automation

One row, in depth: what each tool does, the verified numbers, and who each suits.

Closely details read from its pricing page, home page, product and legal pages and help centre on 21 October 2026.

Warmerly

An add-on from $19 a month per account: connection requests and messages in a sequence.

Closely

The core product: profile visits, connection requests, follow-ups, post likes and endorsements, with several lead sources.

The short answer

LinkedIn automation, in one look.

Warmerly offers connection requests and messages as steps in a sequence, as a $19 a month add-on for each account. LinkedIn automation is Closely's core product: profile visits, connection requests, follow-ups, post likes, endorsements and a wider set of lead sources, in the cloud. Last checked 22 October 2026.

How Warmerly does it

Warmerly, in detail.

Two LinkedIn campaign steps (a connection request and a message) sit in the same sequence as email, and a separate warmup runs five kinds of activity. It costs $19 a month for each connected account, with no trial.

01

Price and how it is bought

LinkedIn is sold on its own, not inside the email plans. One connected account is $19 a month. A pack of 3 accounts is $49 a month and a pack of 5 is $75. It is charged straight away, there is no trial, and LinkedIn accounts are not refunded. You can cancel and keep access to the end of the paid period.

02

Two steps in a campaign

A campaign sequence can hold a LinkedIn connection step, a LinkedIn message step, wait steps and email steps. A ready-made 'LinkedIn then email' template connects first, waits 2 days, then sends two emails. The list editor handles these linear steps; only the canvas editor builds branches.

03

Messages wait for the connection

LinkedIn only lets you message first-degree connections. Before a message step the engine looks at the lead's profile. If the invitation is still pending it re-checks every 6 hours without spending send budget, and it skips the lead if they are still not connected 21 days after the invitation.

04

One shared daily budget

A standard account is capped at 10 invitations a day and 50 a week (premium: 20 and 100). The other mature daily caps are 50 messages, 40 profile views, 20 reactions, 5 comments and 2 posts. Warmup and campaigns spend from the same budget. You can set lower caps, never higher.

05

AI messages and how an account connects

Each LinkedIn message can optionally be written for one prospect from their profile, at 1 AI credit each, off by default. You sign in to LinkedIn through Warmerly and the connection runs through a hosted third-party service (LinkupAPI), so an account can show as disconnected when that service has a problem. Production had the customer connect flow switched on when it was read on 15 October 2026.

06

Where Warmerly is behind

We found no code for InMail, skill endorsements, following profiles, liking posts as a campaign step, or sequences that start from a group, event or post. There is no LinkedIn webhook, tag or transfer step in a sequence. Closely's list of actions and lead sources is longer.

Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026

07

Warmup is separate from sending

A LinkedIn account has its own warmup that plans small daily activity such as posts, comments and invitations from its config. It starts paused until you switch it on, and it spends from the same daily budget as campaigns, so warming leaves less room for outreach on the same day.

08

Who it suits

It is a fit when LinkedIn is one or two steps in a sequence that mostly emails. With 2 accounts the add-on costs $38 a month, with 3 it is $49, and with 5 it is $75.

How Closely does it

Closely, in detail.

Closely automates LinkedIn from the cloud with human-paced actions and several lead sources. A campaign can use seven LinkedIn actions and four conditions, runs without your computer on, and sits on a dedicated residential IP per account.

01

The actions

Its LinkedIn page lists profile visits, connection requests, follow-up messages, post likes and more. Its conditions article also names endorsing skills as a step. Its help centre lists articles on a Like action and on withdrawing pending connection requests, which we did not open.

Actions and conditions in a campaign

The conditions article lists, for a LinkedIn account: connection request, view profile, like post, send message, endorse skills, find email and if connected. For an email account it lists send email, if email opened and if email clicked. Send message and endorse skills need an existing connection. Written 7 November 2024.

07

Connection requests set the conditions

Adding a connection request automatically adds an if connected condition, and adding find email adds an if email found condition. Both can be deleted. None of the conditions work in the My Network campaign type, and open and click conditions need click tracking switched on.

09

Warm-up period

With warm-up on, the article gives 3 to 5 requests a day in week 1 and 8 to 11 in week 2, then says the increase continues without figures. You can switch it off and set limits yourself. Limits differ between accounts depending on past activity. Written 26 November 2025.

Safeguarding advice

The safeguard article advises a warm-up period of at least one month, says established accounts can go up to 30 connection requests a day, advises running one campaign at a time on a new account, and says trial accounts do not get the dedicated proxy. Written 12 September 2023.

What Closely does not say

We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.

  • The number of connection requests or messages a day, as a published default
  • A monthly limit set by Closely
  • How AI sequences differ from ordinary ones
  • A published daily default for connection requests outside the warm-up article
  • Whether InMail is sent as a step or only shown in the inbox
  • How the dedicated IP is chosen by region

Where the sources disagree

We report each version rather than pick one.

  • Closely's pages say its LinkedIn actions are fully automated, while its multichannel page also calls the same tool semi-automated.

In practice

What it means for you.

Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.

1

If LinkedIn is the whole job, Closely goes further

More actions, more lead sources and conditions than Warmerly's two LinkedIn steps.

2

If LinkedIn is one step among several, Warmerly is lighter

It adds a connection request and a message to an email sequence for $19 an account.

3

A new profile, week by week

With Closely's warm-up on, a new account sends 3 to 5 requests a day in week 1 and 8 to 11 in week 2. Over 7 days that is 21 to 35 in week 1 and 56 to 77 in week 2. Warmerly's standard account ramps to 10 a day by day 15 and stops at 50 a week. Both are ceilings set below LinkedIn's roughly 100 a week.

4

A campaign that needs a connection first

Both tools only message people who accepted. Warmerly re-checks a pending invitation every 6 hours and skips the lead if there is still no connection 21 days after the invitation. Closely's help centre has an article asking why messages are not sent to leads who accepted, which we did not open.

5

Two LinkedIn accounts in a team

At 2 accounts Warmerly's add-on is $38 a month on top of email plans. Closely's cheapest plan with 2 accounts is Growth at $159 monthly, which covers 3 accounts and includes finders and AI features. The bundles differ, so the gap is not a like for like saving.

6

Likes, visits and endorsements

If your sequence relies on liking a post, visiting a profile or endorsing a skill before the message, Closely lists those as actions. Warmerly's campaign steps are a connection request and a message, so you would build those touches by hand outside the tool.

Closely

Closely is the better fit if

  • You want endorsements, likes, profile visits and several lead sources
  • LinkedIn is your main channel
  • You want a dedicated residential IP per LinkedIn account
  • You want conditions that branch on whether a lead connected
Questions
Does Closely stop messaging when someone replies?

Yes. A sequence stops for a contact once they reply to a connection request or follow-up, and that default cannot currently be changed.

What can Warmerly do on LinkedIn?

Send connection requests and messages in the same sequence as email, warm the account, and draft messages with AI if you switch it on. It is $19 a month per account.

What can a Closely campaign do on LinkedIn?

Per its conditions article: send a connection request, view a profile, like a post, send a message and endorse skills, with find email and an if connected condition. Messages and endorsements need an existing connection.

What are Closely's daily limits?

With warm-up on it states 3 to 5 connection requests a day in week 1 and 8 to 11 in week 2. Another help article says LinkedIn's limit is about 100 a week and that Closely adds none. Established accounts can go up to 30 a day per its safeguard article.

Does Warmerly like posts or visit profiles in a campaign?

No. A Warmerly campaign has a connection request step and a message step. Its separate LinkedIn warmup does plan posts, comments and reactions, but those are not campaign steps.
