Email verification

One row, in depth: what each tool does, the verified numbers, and who each suits.

Woodpecker details read from its pricing, home, features, integrations, agency and help centre pages on 21 October 2026.

The short answer

Email verification, in one look.

Warmerly includes a verifier with monthly allowances by plan: 5,000 on Starter, 25,000 on Growth and 150,000 on Agency, while Woodpecker lists unlimited email verification, catch-all included, in its base price. This is a row where Woodpecker is ahead. What differs besides volume is how much each side tells you: Warmerly documents its four answers, its checks and its limits, while Woodpecker's pages say little about how its verification works.

What a check tells you

Warmerly gives one of four answers with a confidence score and a plain reason.

WarmerlyWoodpecker
WarmerlyOne address or a bulk list
  • Safe to send
  • Send with caution
  • Do not send
  • Unknown

A standard check does not send a message to the address.

Warmerly publishes no accuracy figure either.

How Warmerly does it

Warmerly, in detail.

A verifier for one address or a bulk list, built in-house, with allowances by plan. It gives one of four answers with a confidence score and a plain reason, never turns a doubt into 'Do not send', and says openly what it cannot know, such as catch-all domains. Volume is capped by plan, and that cap is the main place Warmerly is behind.

01

What it answers

Email verification checks one address or a bulk list and answers Safe to send, Send with caution, Do not send or Unknown, with a confidence score and a plain reason. A standard check does not send a message to the address.

02

Monthly allowances

Verifications a month are 5,000 on Starter, 25,000 on Growth and 150,000 on Agency. The Free plan has 250 verifications.

03

The checks under 'Show details'

A single check shows the individual tests: format, whether the mail server is reachable, whether the mailbox accepts, catch-all, disposable address, shared inbox such as info@, free provider such as Gmail, whether the domain can receive email at all, and the mail provider. If the domain looks like a typo of a well-known one, a 'Did you mean' suggestion appears.

04

Doubt never becomes 'Do not send'

An address is only marked Do not send on hard evidence: bad format, no mail server, a disposable domain, or the receiving server explicitly saying the mailbox does not exist. If the server blocks or times out, the answer is Unknown, so a problem on the checking side does not kill a real lead.

05

Catch-all domains are labelled, not guessed

A catch-all domain accepts mail for any address, so one exact address cannot be confirmed from outside. Warmerly labels these Catch-all or Send with caution rather than Valid. The help page says Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 behave this way for outside checks, so many business addresses land here.

06

Confirm with a test send

For a single address that comes back Catch-all, Risky or Unknown, Warmerly can send one short message from one of your connected mailboxes and watch for a bounce for a few minutes. It is a real email that counts toward that mailbox's reputation, it is not billed as a separate verification, and it cannot settle a true catch-all domain.

07

Bulk lists and what counts

A bulk batch can hold up to 50,000 addresses, duplicates in the paste are removed, and results can be exported as CSV or Excel or added to a campaign. Only Safe to send addresses are added by default. Each fresh check uses one verification. A result Warmerly already remembers, a failed check and a repeat inside its memory window cost nothing. Allowances reset on the 1st of the month and do not roll over.

08

Where Warmerly is behind

Warmerly's verification is capped by plan. Woodpecker's pages list it as unlimited. Warmerly also states what it cannot do: it cannot guarantee delivery, cannot see inside catch-all domains and cannot resolve every Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace address, so those show as Send with caution or Unknown. Checks are paced per receiving server, so a big list at one company runs slower than a mixed list.

How Woodpecker does it

Woodpecker, in detail.

Verification is a base feature at no extra price, listed as unlimited with catch-all included, and a Bouncer integration is listed. Its own pages say what it catches in general terms, say it runs on each address right before sending, and publish no limits, statuses, accuracy figure or fair use text.

01

Unlimited, catch-all included

The base features list 'Unlimited email verification (includes catch-all)', shown as free.

02

Described as avoiding invalid addresses

The home page says verification helps you 'Avoid sending emails to invalid addresses'.

03

Bouncer listed as built-in

The integrations page lists Bouncer as built-in. The page does not say what built-in means.

woodpecker.co/integrations · read 21 October 2026

04

Checked right before sending

The features page says Woodpecker checks your prospects' email addresses right before they are sent, and if they are incorrect the email will not be sent. That is a different point in time from checking a list up front, and the page does not say which of the two the unlimited allowance covers.

05

What the verification page says it catches

A dedicated page says the process checks which addresses are valid and removes ones typed wrong in the first place and temporary or disposable addresses. It names syntax errors, non-existent domains and missing mailboxes (MX record checks) as examples. It describes hard bounces as something to delete automatically and soft bounces as something to monitor.

What Woodpecker does not say

We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.

  • How verification works or which checks it makes beyond the general list on its verification page
  • Any accuracy figure
  • A fair use limit on the word 'unlimited'
  • How catch-all addresses are treated: flagged, removed or left for you to decide
  • Whether a bulk list can be uploaded and verified up front, or only checked at send time

Where the sources disagree

We report each version rather than pick one.

  • The Woodpecker pricing page says catch-all verification is included, while its verification page explains catch-all addresses without saying how they are handled. We report the pricing line as stated and mark the handling as not found.

In practice

What it means for you.

Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.

1

Large lists favour Woodpecker

If you verify more than 150,000 addresses a month, Woodpecker's unlimited line removes a cost question. Check its fair use terms first.

2

Most small teams stay inside

5,000 a month covers a lot of cold outreach for a team on Starter. Check your own list size.

3

A 12,000-address list

On Starter's 5,000 a month, a 12,000-address list takes three months or a top-up. On Growth's 25,000 it fits in one batch with 13,000 left for the month. Warmerly refuses a batch that does not fit in the remaining allowance, so nothing is left half done. On Woodpecker the pricing page lists no limit, so the question is whether its check runs on a list up front, which its pages do not say.

4

A 30,000-address list on Growth

30,000 is 5,000 more than Growth's 25,000, so the whole batch is refused and nothing is queued. Splitting it into 25,000 and 5,000 lets the first run now and the second wait for the 1st or a credit top-up. This is the clearest everyday cost of a cap.

5

Lots of 'Send with caution'

A segment made of Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 companies will show many catch-all results, because those providers accept any address from an outside check. Warmerly says that is a limit of what can be known, not a fault in your list, and suggests sending in moderation or settling single addresses with a test send. Woodpecker's pages say verification catches typos, disposable domains and missing mailboxes, but not how catch-alls come out.
