Spam-folder rescue interval

One row, in depth: what each tool does, the verified numbers, and who each suits.

Instantly details read from its pricing and help pages on 15 and 17 October 2026.

The short answer

Spam-folder rescue, in one look.

Both tools move warmup mail out of spam automatically. Warmerly rescues every spam-placed warmup message, after a delay of 10 to 120 minutes (10 to 20 for a mailbox's first email), so "10 minutes" is the shortest possible wait, not a fixed interval. Instantly does publish that it rescues, and lets you set a Spam Protection percentage, but we found no published timing. Last checked 19 October 2026.

How Warmerly does it

Warmerly, in detail.

Rescue is unconditional for warmup mail between Warmerly mailboxes, and happens after the same read delay as any other warmup message.

01

What is rescued

When the processor finds a warmup message in a recipient's spam folder (Gmail Spam, Junk, Junk Email), it recovers it. Every spam-placed message is rescued, with no sampling. It used to be about 75 per cent; that was dropped because a message left in Spam keeps teaching the filter that the sender is junk.

02

What a rescue does

In order: remove the Junk keywords and add NotJunk (best effort, servers differ), mark the message read, starred and important, and move it to the inbox. On Gmail, moving out of Spam is the "Not spam" signal. A reply from the recipient is then queued whatever the account's reply probability, unless the thread is at depth 3 or the recipient cannot reply.

03

When it happens

Each job has a read delay of 10 to 120 minutes after sending, worked out from the job id so it is repeatable. A mailbox's first warmup email is read after 10 to 20 minutes. The rescue happens after that delay, so it never occurs within minutes of delivery. The processor loop that does the work runs every 120 seconds by default (WARMUP_PROCESSOR_INTERVAL_MS).

04

Counted and limited

A rescued job is recorded as delivered to spam and opened, so rescues still show in placement and rescue stats. Only warmup mail between Warmerly mailboxes is rescued. Campaign mail to real prospects is never touched.

How Instantly does it

Instantly, in detail.

Instantly says warmup mail that lands in spam is moved to the inbox automatically, and exposes a Spam Protection percentage per account. No time is published.

01

A configurable percentage

The Advanced Warmup Settings include Spam Protection: the percentage of warmup emails that will be moved from spam to the inbox, described as helping inbox placement over time. We did not find the default value or a maximum. The same article lists Read Emulation, Open Rate and Mark Important as separate settings.

02

Automatic, no action needed

The filter article says warmup emails that land in spam are automatically moved back to the inbox by Instantly's system and you do not need to intervene. The health score article says some early spam placement is normal because new recipient accounts are introduced as warmup progresses, and the system moves those emails to the inbox.

What Instantly does not say

We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.

  • Searched help.instantly.ai Warm-Up collection (all 9 articles: how warmup works, enable, health score, settings, filter, readiness, premium/private pool, standard/basic pool, reactivate) and instantly.ai/email-warmup for how long rescue takes or how often it runs; found no time or interval.
  • Searched the same pages for the default and maximum of the Spam Protection setting; found no value.

In practice

What it means for you.

Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.

1

Do not read "10 minutes" as a promise

Our reading: the shortest wait is 10 minutes and the longest is 120, so a spam-placed message may sit for up to two hours.

2

Rescue only applies to warmup mail

Our reading: neither tool can rescue a campaign email from a prospect's spam folder. Rescue improves the warmup signal, not the placement of your real sends.

3

Instantly gives you a dial, Warmerly gives you a rule

Our reading: if you want to tune the percentage, Instantly offers that. If you want no tuning, Warmerly rescues everything. Neither publishes evidence of effect on placement.

Who it suits

Pick the one that fits.

Warmerly

Warmerly is the better fit if

  • You want every spam-placed warmup message rescued without a setting to manage.
  • You want the rescue to trigger a reply from the recipient, which Warmerly queues by design.
  • You value having the rescue steps documented (keywords, flags, move).

Instantly is the better fit if

  • You want to set the share of warmup mail that is rescued yourself.
  • You want a dedicated Spam Protection control next to open rate and mark-important rate.
  • You prefer an "X saved from spam" figure in each account's warmup analytics.
Questions
How quickly does Warmerly rescue a warmup email from spam?

After the message's read delay, which is 10 to 120 minutes (10 to 20 for a mailbox's first email). The checker runs every 2 minutes by default, so the delay, not the checker, sets the wait.

Does Warmerly rescue every message?

Yes, every spam-placed warmup message between Warmerly mailboxes. It used to be about 75 per cent.

Does Instantly rescue warmup emails from spam?

Yes. Its help centre says warmup mail in spam is moved to the inbox automatically, and the Spam Protection setting sets the percentage. It does not publish how long that takes.

Does rescue help my cold emails?

It acts on warmup mail only. On both tools, campaign mail to prospects is not moved.

Does rescue guarantee inbox placement?

No. Instantly's own deliverability guide says no platform can honestly guarantee inbox placement, and Warmerly's guarantee covers a placement improvement test, not placement.
