The short answer

Replies with quoted history, in one look.

Warmerly's warmup replies do include the original message quoted underneath, with Re: subjects and In-Reply-To and References headers. Instantly publishes that a share of warmup emails get replies (Reply rate setting, 30 per cent suggested) but we found nothing in its docs that says whether those replies quote the original, so it is not published rather than a yes or no. Instantly says a share of warmup emails get replies (a Reply rate setting, 30 per cent suggested). We found nothing in its docs on whether a reply quotes the original.

The example text is made up for illustration. The headers and quoting are how Warmerly's warmup builds a reply.

How Warmerly does it

Warmerly, in detail.

Each warmup reply is built from the original message: text quoted line by line, an HTML quote block, a Re: subject and threading headers.

01

How a reply is built

When a recipient's job is processed and a reply is decided, the processor creates a new warmup job from the recipient back to the sender. The plain-text body is a short reply, then "On <date>:", then every line of the original prefixed with "> ". The HTML body puts the original inside a block with a grey left border below the reply.

02

Threading

The subject gets "Re: " only if it is not already there, so chains do not stack. The send sets In-Reply-To and References to the original message's id, and the job records parent id and thread depth, so providers see one conversation.

03

When a reply happens

The default reply probability is 0.3 for a first message, 0.35 times that for deeper replies, and threads stop at depth 3. It is tuned between 0.15 and 0.40 by the mailbox's health; it is not a setting you change. A spam rescue always queues a reply. The reply is scheduled 20 to 90 minutes after the open, moved into the replying mailbox's send window, and into the next morning if it would fall after hours.

04

One honest detail

The attribution line reads "On Mon, Oct 5, 2026:" and does not name the sender or end in "wrote:" as most mail clients do. The quoted content itself is the full original body.

How Instantly does it

Instantly, in detail.

Instantly says warmup emails receive replies from the pool at a rate you set, with positive sentiment. It does not describe how replies are formatted.

03

How the traffic is generated

The warmup page says warmup runs through a private network of headless browsers and uses read emulation to scroll through messages. This describes opens, not reply text.

What Instantly does not say

We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.

  • Searched help.instantly.ai (Warm-Up collection, Warmup Settings, How Warm-Up Works, Filter Warmup Emails, Deliverability Guide), instantly.ai/email-warmup and developer.instantly.ai for whether warmup replies quote the original message, set In-Reply-To or References, or form a thread; found no statement.

In practice

What it means for you.

Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.

1

Why quoting is worth asking about

Our reading: a reply that quotes the original and carries threading headers looks like a normal mail conversation. We do not have evidence of how much weight any provider gives this, so we describe it as design intent, not a measured effect.

2

Do not assume Instantly lacks it

Our reading: the absence of a statement is not a no. If this matters to you, ask Instantly support, or send a test between two of your own accounts and look at the raw reply.

3

Tune the rate, not just the format

Our reading: both tools let you change how often replies happen, and 30 per cent is the default on both, so the decision is more about format and visibility than volume.

Who it suits

Pick the one that fits.

Warmerly

Warmerly is the better fit if

  • You want warmup replies that quote the original and thread properly, and you want that documented.
  • You want to be able to see in the code or docs how replies are formed.
  • You like the guarantee that a spam rescue is followed by a reply.

Instantly is the better fit if

  • You want warmup mail that is plain text and easy to filter by a workspace tag.
  • You care more about reply rate and open rate controls than the reply format.
  • You are happy to rely on a large pool without knowing the reply format.
Questions
Do Warmerly warmup replies quote the original message?

Yes. The text version prefixes each original line with "> " under an "On <date>:" line, and the HTML version places the original in a bordered quote block.

Do Instantly warmup replies quote the original?

Instantly does not say. Its docs cover the reply rate and say warmup mail is plain text, but not whether replies quote the original.

How often does warmup reply on each tool?

Warmerly's default is 0.3 on a first message, lower deeper in a thread, up to depth 3. Instantly's suggested Reply rate is 30 per cent.

Are the replies threaded?

On Warmerly, yes: Re: subject plus In-Reply-To and References. Instantly does not publish this.
