Contacts on starting plan

One row, in depth: what each tool does, the verified numbers, and who each suits.

Instantly details read from its pricing and help pages on 15 and 17 October 2026.

Warmerly

5,000 active prospects

1,000 uploaded (a fixed limit across all campaigns)

The short answer

Contacts on the starting plan, in one look.

The two numbers measure different things. Warmerly Starter allows 5,000 active prospects: unique emails still being worked in active or paused campaigns, with finished, skipped, unsubscribed and bounced leads dropping out of the count. Instantly Growth allows 1,000 uploaded contacts: every contact uploaded to a campaign, including paused and draft ones, as a fixed total that does not reset monthly. Last checked 19 October 2026.

How Warmerly does it

Warmerly, in detail.

Starter has three related limits: 5,000 active prospects across the workspace, 2,500 leads in any one campaign, and 5 active campaigns.

01

What 'active prospects' counts

It is the number of distinct email addresses across all active and paused campaigns in the workspace. A lead is left out once its status is completed, skipped, unsubscribed or bounced. Queued, active and replied leads still count. The same address in two campaigns counts once. Draft campaigns are not in the count.

02

The limits by plan

Free: 500 active prospects, 500 leads per campaign, 1 active campaign. Starter: 5,000, 2,500, 5 campaigns. Growth: 50,000, 25,000, 25 campaigns. Agency: 250,000, 100,000, with no limit on active campaigns.

03

Two different kinds of enforcement

The per-campaign cap is a hard gate at import: it counts every lead row on the campaign whatever its status, and refuses an import that does not fit. The workspace-wide active-prospect cap is checked by a nightly sweep, not at upload. Going over starts a 30-day grace period, and a workspace still over when grace ends is locked.

04

So 5,000 needs more than one campaign

Because a single Starter campaign holds at most 2,500 leads, using the full 5,000 active prospects means at least two campaigns. The 5-campaign limit leaves room for that.

05

Separate monthly allowances for lead tools

Finding, verifying and exporting leads are metered separately and reset monthly. Starter includes 5,000 email verifications, 1,000 email lookups, 1,000 LinkedIn lookups and 500 lead exports a month; Growth 25,000 / 10,000 / 10,000 / 5,000; Agency 150,000 / 100,000 / 100,000 / 50,000. Extra blocks can be bought with credits, never automatically.

How Instantly does it

Instantly, in detail.

Instantly sells a fixed total of uploaded contacts per plan: 1,000 on Growth, 25,000 on Hypergrowth, 100,000 on Light Speed. It is not a monthly allowance.

01

What counts

The help centre says the limit 'counts any contact you have uploaded to campaigns in your workspace, regardless of campaign status (active, paused, or draft)'. It is a fixed total, not a monthly allowance, and it does not reset or refresh each month.

help.instantly.ai/en/articles/7918680-uploaded-contacts-limits · read 19 October 2026

03

Getting room back

Deleting leads or whole campaigns lowers the count; the help article says to wait 5 to 10 minutes and refresh the billing page. Deleting from 'Lists' does not reduce the uploaded limit, deleting leads does not give back credits already spent on verification or generation, and deleted leads cannot be recovered.

05

Finding and verifying leads uses credits

SuperSearch lead finding, enrichment and verification run on the separate Data Credits plan (Nano $9 a month for 150 credits, Growth credits from $47 for 1,500). If you hold only a Data Credits plan, uploads to campaigns are limited to 250 leads.

What Instantly does not say

We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.

  • Searched the Instantly help centre articles on uploaded contacts limits, plans overview, plans comparison and add-on pricing for how a contact that appears in more than one campaign is counted; none states it.
  • Searched the same articles for what happens when an upload would exceed the limit (blocked or partly accepted); none states it, so we do not say.
  • Searched the same help articles and the pricing page for a per-campaign contact limit; none is stated, only the workspace-wide total.

In practice

What it means for you.

Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.

1

Not like for like

Our reading: 5,000 active prospects and 1,000 uploaded contacts cannot be set side by side as a five-to-one ratio, because Warmerly stops counting a lead once it is finished or bounced, while Instantly keeps counting an uploaded contact until you delete it.

2

Housekeeping is part of Instantly's limit

Our reading: on Instantly Growth you will need to delete finished leads or campaigns to make room, and keep a backup first because deletions cannot be undone. On Warmerly, finished leads drop out of the active count by themselves, though they still use space inside their own campaign's 2,500 cap.

3

The Warmerly limit has two layers

Our reading: plan for the 2,500 per-campaign cap as well as the 5,000 total on Starter. A single large list has to be split across campaigns.

4

Lead sourcing is priced elsewhere on both

Our reading: both meter finding and verifying leads separately from the contact limit, so a bigger contact allowance does not include the cost of getting the contacts.

Who it suits

Pick the one that fits.

Warmerly

Warmerly is the better fit if

  • You work lists of a few thousand live prospects at a time and want finished leads to stop counting
  • You want contacts, verification and lookups handled with monthly allowances in the same plan
  • You are happy to split large lists into campaigns of up to 2,500 on Starter
  • You want LinkedIn steps alongside email in the same sequence

Instantly is the better fit if

  • You want to hold a larger stock of uploaded contacts on one plan, as on Hypergrowth (25,000) or Light Speed (100,000)
  • You want add-ons that raise the contact limit in blocks of 25,000
  • You prefer a single simple total to track on the billing page
  • You want its lead finder (SuperSearch) in the same product, accepting that it runs on credits
Questions
What does '5,000 active prospects' mean on Warmerly?

The number of distinct email addresses in your active and paused campaigns whose leads are not completed, skipped, unsubscribed or bounced. The same address in several campaigns counts once.

What does '1,000 uploaded contacts' mean on Instantly?

Every contact uploaded to campaigns in your workspace, whether the campaign is active, paused or draft. It is a fixed total that does not reset monthly, per Instantly's help centre.

Is there a per-campaign limit on Warmerly?

Yes. Starter allows 2,500 leads in any one campaign, checked when you import. Growth allows 25,000 and Agency 100,000.

What happens if I go over Warmerly's active prospect limit?

A nightly check flags the workspace and starts 30 days of grace. If it is still over when grace ends, the workspace is locked.

How do I free up contacts on Instantly?

Delete leads or campaigns and wait 5 to 10 minutes. Deleting from Lists does not reduce the limit, and deleted leads cannot be recovered.
