How each builder decides which way a lead goes

WarmerlySkylead

Warmerly

One condition step waits for a set time and races the outcomes. The order is the order it checks.

  1. 1RepliedChecked first. A reply wins.
  2. 2ClickedNext, read from the lead's latest email.
  3. 3OpenedNext, read from the lead's latest email.
  4. 4TimeoutIf time runs out with nothing matched, this edge fires.
Opened and clicked are read from the lead's latest email. Whether a lead is connected on LinkedIn is checked by the engine itself, not by a branch you draw.

Skylead

Its page says to use 8 actions and 7 if/else conditions. One dot is one action, one diamond is one condition.

What to show

As counted: 8 actions and 7 conditions, from the page's own wording.

The pages we read name only two conditions, opening an email and clicking a link. They do not list the 8 actions or the other 5 conditions, which may well exist in the product.

Warmerly's LinkedIn waiting rules, such as waiting for a connection, are built in rather than drawn. Skylead's pages do not describe its own.

How Warmerly does it

Warmerly, in detail.

A drag-and-drop canvas with a condition step that branches on replied, clicked, opened or a timeout, mixed with email, LinkedIn and wait steps. LinkedIn rules like waiting for a connection are built in, not drawn as a branch.

01

One condition step, four outcomes

A condition step waits for a set time and races the outcomes against each other. A reply wins first, then a click, then an open, and if the time runs out with nothing matched the timeout edge fires (or the default edge). The opened and clicked outcomes are read from the lead's latest email. The step is checked once per engine tick.

02

Only the canvas makes branches

Branching sequences are built in the drag-and-drop canvas. The simpler list editor handles linear sequences only: email, wait, LinkedIn connection, LinkedIn message and WhatsApp message. If a sequence has a condition, the list editor refuses to show it rather than flatten it.

03

LinkedIn rules are built in

Before a LinkedIn message step the engine checks whether the lead is now a first-degree connection. If not, it re-checks every 6 hours and skips the lead 21 days after the invitation. You cannot draw an alternative path from that check, for example to switch to email when an invitation is ignored.

04

A reply stops the sequence by default

A genuine reply stops the lead's sequence by default, and unsubscribes go on a workspace-wide suppression list that every step respects.

05

Where Warmerly is behind

We found no condition on whether a lead is connected, has an open profile, followed you or visited your profile, and no branch on a missing email address. Skylead says it has 7 if/else conditions, though its page does not list them.

What Skylead does not say

We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.

  • The names of the 8 actions
  • What each of the 7 conditions tests, beyond opens and clicks
  • What can be A/B tested
  • A limit on the number of steps

Where the sources disagree

We report each version rather than pick one.

  • Skylead's pricing table lists spintax and Liquid syntax for email, and its email outreach page mentions neither. We use the pricing table.

In practice

What it means for you.

Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.

1

Skylead has the deeper branching, as stated

7 conditions across LinkedIn and email is more than 4 outcomes on one step. We cannot say what all 7 test, because its page does not list them.

2

Warmerly's branches are the email ones that most teams use

Reply, click, open and timeout cover the common paths. LinkedIn rules like waiting for a connection are built in rather than drawn.

3

Ask for a demo of your own sequence

The way to settle this is to draw the sequence you want in each tool.
