Enter a domain and this tool reads its BIMI record, checks that the logo and certificate links are written correctly, and tells you whether its DMARC policy is enforced. A BIMI record alone does not make a logo appear in anyone's inbox.
The record check is ours: one BIMI record at the name, a v=BIMI1 start, an https logo link ending in .svg, and an https certificate link if a= is set. The DMARC line follows what the BIMI Group and Google ask for: quarantine or reject, with pct at 100. If no pct tag is published, the policy covers all mail and the line counts it as 100.
This tool reads DNS only. It does not download your SVG, check that it meets the BIMI Group's SVG Tiny PS format, or validate a certificate, and it looks at the DMARC record on the exact domain you enter. Whether a logo appears is each mailbox provider's call, so a green result here is a good start and not a promise.
A DNS TXT record, published at default._bimi.yourdomain.com unless you use another selector, that points to your logo. The BIMI Group's template is v=BIMI1; l=[SVG URL]; a=[PEM URL]. The a= tag is optional and reserved for a VMC or CMC certificate.
No. The BIMI Group says each participating mailbox provider has its own criteria for when a logo may be displayed. Google's admin help asks for enforced DMARC, an SVG logo and a VMC or CMC. Yahoo asks for enforced DMARC and a valid SVG logo, does not require a VMC, and also looks at whether you are a bulk sender with enough reputation and engagement.
An enforced one. The BIMI Group says the policy must be at enforcement on the organizational domain and subdomains: quarantine or reject, with p=none and a pct below 100 not accepted. Google's admin help says p must be quarantine or reject and pct must be 100. Yahoo asks for quarantine or reject.
Certificates that go in the a= tag. The BIMI Group says a VMC validates ownership of an organization's logo and a CMC is used in place of trademarked logos, with some flexibility. Google's admin help says you need a VMC (recommended) or a CMC from a certificate authority. Yahoo says it does not currently require a VMC.
