Inbox placement, in one look.
Warmerly runs a placement test per mailbox against up to 4 targets, but with no dedicated Gmail or Outlook seed list yet its accuracy is limited and the app says so. Lemwarm's blog says its reports show where cold emails and replies land, without saying how that is measured. Its help centre says its score is not a placement percentage. Last checked 21 October 2026.

Where a message landed
As each company describes it
Warmerly has no dedicated Gmail or Outlook seed list yet, so its tests fall back to its own mailboxes and say so.
What it looks like.

Warmerly, in detail.
A placement test per mailbox, labelled when accuracy is limited.
What a test does
It sends one message to up to 4 targets, waits 30 seconds on demand or 90 in the daily sweep, checks Inbox, Promotions, Spam and Junk over IMAP and scores each result.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
Limited accuracy is shown
A fallback test scores close to 100 whatever the sender's real result, so the app labels it Limited accuracy and never uses it to change health.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
Allowances
Free has 3 placement tests a month, Starter 5, Growth 25 and Agency 100.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
How the score is built
Each target result scores 100 for inbox, 60 for promotions, 10 for spam and 0 if the message is missing, and the test score is the average across targets.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
Which targets
A test picks up to 2 targets on the same provider as the sender and up to 2 on other providers, so a Gmail mailbox is checked against both Gmail and non-Gmail recipients.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
What the test sends
One message is sent from the mailbox's own SMTP to each target with a subject that carries a unique token, then each target is searched over IMAP in Inbox, Promotions, Spam and Junk.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
Three sources of targets
The best is a dedicated seed mailbox at Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo, then consenting mailboxes of other customers in the warmup network, then Warmerly's own pool mailboxes as a degraded fallback.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
A degraded run never changes health
A run against our own pool mailboxes scores close to 100 whatever the sender's real standing, so it is labelled Limited accuracy and kept out of health, spam score and the ramp.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
Trends compare like with like
A change between two tests is shown only when both ran against the same kind of target, because comparing a degraded run with a real one measures which targets were available.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
A daily sweep
A daily job tests up to 5 mailboxes per run and skips any mailbox tested in the last 24 hours. A test left running for over 20 minutes is marked failed.
Warmerly product, checked 21 October 2026
On demand from the Health tab
A test started from a mailbox's Health tab takes about 45 to 60 seconds with four targets and is stored even if you close the browser.

Lemwarm, in detail.
Reports of where mail lands, with the method not stated.
Placement in reports
A Lemwarm blog post says the reports show where cold emails and replies land.

Not a placement percentage
lemlist's help centre says the warmup score is not a placement percentage.

A monthly test is advised
The setup article advises one or two inbox placement tests a month. It does not say which tool runs them.

Where mail lands, as reports
The blog says the report shows where your emails are landing in a Cold Email Performance graph and where replies land in a Reply Performance graph.

Warm-up results, not campaign results
The help centre says the Warmup Score does not predict whether campaign emails will land in the inbox, and that an inbox placement test is the way to check that.

A reputation signal after launch
The setup article says to keep one reputation signal running after launch, either inbox placement tests or lemwarm at 10 a day, and never neither. If you run both, it says placement tests decide.

How often to test

Green means ready, with conditions
A green score starts campaigns only after 14 days of stabilisation with an inbox rate above 90%. The article does not explain how that inbox rate is measured.

An 80 is not 80%
The help centre says a score of 80 is not an 80% inbox rate and should not be quoted as one.

What Lemwarm does not say
We looked, and found no statement on these. That is about its published pages only, not about the product.
- How placement is measured: seed inboxes or real mailboxes
- Whether placement tests are a lemwarm feature or a lemlist feature
- Whether lemwarm's inbox rate comes from warm-up mail inside its own network
- Whether a placement test is a lemwarm feature or sold separately by lemlist
Only what we could verify.

What it means for you.
Our reading of the facts above. Not a promise, and not the only reasonable reading.
Treat any score with care
A placement result on your own warmup pool says little about Gmail or Outlook. Warmerly labels that case. Lemwarm does not say which case applies.
Reading a limited accuracy result
Say a test returns 100 and is labelled Limited accuracy. That tells you our own pool mailboxes accepted the mail, which they nearly always do. It does not say Gmail would. Treat it as a check that sending works, not that you are in the inbox.
Using your allowance
On Starter you have 5 tests a month. One test per week leaves one spare. On Growth, 25 tests a month is enough to test each of 25 mailboxes once, which is the sensible first use.
Testing after a change
After changing your SPF record, a copy change or a new domain, run a test before and after. Warmerly compares like with like, so the change you see is real. Lemwarm's advice is a monthly test and a check on spam rate in its report.
Placement and the launch decision
Lemwarm ties launch to a score above 90 and 14 stable days. Warmerly publishes no launch threshold, so use a placement test and the health score together and decide yourself.
Pick the one that fits.
Warmerly is the better fit if
- You want a placement test and an honest note when it is limited
- You want each placement result scored and the test limits published
- You want an honest label when a test is not a real measurement
- You want the allowance for tests shown per plan
Lemwarm is the better fit if
- You want reports that show where replies land, and use lemlist's deliverability testing
- You want inbox and reply graphs in one dashboard
- You want a rule for when to launch and how often to test
- You want a placement signal tied to lemlist's tooling
Does Lemwarm have inbox placement tests?
Its reports show where cold emails and replies land, per its blog. It does not say how that is measured, and its help centre says the score is not a placement percentage.
Is Warmerly's placement test accurate?
Not yet. With no dedicated Gmail or Outlook seed list, tests fall back to our own mailboxes, and the app labels them as limited accuracy.
How does Warmerly score a placement test?
Inbox scores 100, promotions 60, spam 10 and missing 0 for each target, and the test score is the average across up to four targets.
Why does a test say Limited accuracy?
Because no dedicated Gmail or Outlook seed mailboxes were used, so the test fell back to Warmerly's own pool mailboxes, which accept almost everything. The result is shown but never used to change health.
How many placement tests do I get?
Free has 3 a month, Starter 5, Growth 25 and Agency 100.
