# Cold Email Tools With an MCP Server for Claude and ChatGPT (2026)

In 2026 Warmerly, Instantly, Smartlead, lemlist, Reply.io, Saleshandy, Apollo, Woodpecker, Hunter and Snov.io all run their own MCP server, so an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can work in your account. We found no official one for Mailshake. Warmerly, Hunter and Snov.io say their MCP server works on every plan, including the free one. Smartlead's works only over SSE with an API key in the URL, in Claude Desktop for now.

## What to look for in a cold email MCP server

- Sign-in by OAuth. You approve access in the browser and never paste a key into a chat app. An API key in the URL, as with Smartlead's, can end up in config files and logs.
- Your AI app. Woodpecker's hosted server lists Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT Desktop and Codex CLI; lemlist's lists Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Grok. Smartlead's works in Claude Desktop only for now.
- Your plan. Saleshandy ties MCP to plans with API access, and Woodpecker's Docker route needs a paid add-on. Warmerly, Hunter and Snov.io allow it on their free plans.
- What the tools can do. Finding leads, building and launching campaigns, and answering replies are different jobs, so check the tool list before you connect.
